Biography

Samuel Beecher is an educator and holistic health practitioner with experience in community and public health across sectors including environmental sustainability, economic development, healthy relationships, and personal well-being. He has worked with small nonprofits, international NGOs, and has run his own business, Healing in Motionincorporating bodywork with movement and mindfulness to help people live and move with less stress and more ease. In addition to teaching with the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, he serves as a Health Educator with KU’s Health Education Resource Office and teaches "Prevention is Possible" through the School of Social Welfare. 

Outside of work, Samuel enjoys spending time in nature with his family, reading, strength training and other physical pursuits, and continuing his study of African languages such as iciBemba and kiSwahili.
